Job Summary:
UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse, Perioperative Educator to join our dynamic surgical services team. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for perioperative nursing staff to ensure excellence in patient care, adherence to best practices, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive perioperative education programs for nursing staff, including orientation, continuing education, and competency assessments.
- Provide hands-on training in surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, infection control, and the use of surgical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, and evidence-based practices in perioperative care.
- Collaborate with surgical services leadership to identify educational needs and implement training initiatives.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for perioperative nurses, fostering professional growth and skill development.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make necessary modifications for continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on advancements in perioperative nursing and integrate new knowledge into training materials.
Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure in the state of Florida or compact.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required;
Master’s degree in Nursing or Education preferred. - Prior educator experience strongly preferred.
- CNOR to be obtained within 12 months of hire.
