Overview
Adventist Health Columbia Gorge is seeking a full-time Patient Access Representative to join our onsite team. In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service while handling registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and other front-line administrative duties. This is a varied shift position, requiring flexibility to work different hours as needed to support patient care.
Responsibilities- Responsible for timely and accurate patient registration. Interviews patients for all pertinent account information. Verify all insurance and calculate and collect patient liability amounts. Ensure that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment. Answer questions and explain policies clearly. Check for physician orders and attach them to the appropriate patient record to ensure correct tests are received. Print and collate any paperwork needed for each patient for distribution to unit/department.
Escort patients to their area or refer patients to an available escort as needed.
Education and
Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent:
Preferred - Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience:

- Check for physician orders and attach them to patient medical records to ensure that patients are receiving appropriate tests.
- Choose correct health plan and verify insurance; research to ensure accuracy when verifying insurance. Enter all authorization information accurately as needed.
- Follow guidelines and instructions from senior staff.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
