Title: High School – Assistant Coach

Classification: Extra Duty/Co‑Curricular

Reports To: Building Administration and Athletic Director

Terms of Employment: One Athletic Season – Salary to be determined by Board/District 21 Education Association Contract Agreement.

Job Qualifications: Provide supportive leadership and organization to the Head Coach in athletic programs grades 9‑12. Support an environment in which student/athletes can gain self‑esteem and develop a positive self‑image. Support the promotion of sportsmanship, a winning attitude and commitment to student academic success.

Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities

Required:

• Skills: possession of moral character that is consistent with being a positive role model for high school students.
• Knowledge: of high school sports programs at the high school level (to include recent rule changes). Develop system of participation that can be effectively communicated with assistants to implement with grades 9‑12. Know how to communicate effectively with athletes and parents.
• Ability: Work harmoniously with others. Organize and manage students' time effectively. Use problem‑solving strategies consistently. Adjust to performing practices in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations.

Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. College Degree Preferred.

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding and/or Testing

Required:

Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance; district drug screening clearance; BBP Training; NFHS Coaches Certification or ASEP Certification;
First Aid/CPR Certification;
Vector Trainings.

Any offer of employment made by North Wasco County School District is contingent upon satisfactory results of:

• Drug screening tests for any illegal drug or substance classified in Schedules I through V under the Federal Controlled Substances Act…
