Assistant Manager - Automotive Garage
Salary: £30,000 - £38,000 per year

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Manager to join a team at a Car Garage based in Thatcham. This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical understanding who is ready to take the next step in their career within a fast-paced and customer-focused environment.

While previous experience in the automotive or motor trade industry is advantageous, it is not essential. What matters most is your ability to lead, motivate, and deliver exceptional service while supporting operational performance.

Requirements for Assistant Manager

As Assistant Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of our workshop, service, maintenance, and repair operations. You will work closely with the management team to drive productivity, maintain high standards of quality, and ensure an outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities of Assistant Manager

Lead and support the workshop team, ensuring performance targets and quality standards are consistently achieved.

Coordinate effectively with other departments, including Bodyshop and Parts Sales, to ensure smooth and efficient workflows.

Plan, monitor, and report on workload levels to maximise productivity and output.

Identify and implement improvements to workflow efficiency and utilisation of resources.

Encourage professional upselling through excellent customer interactions and technician recommendations.

Oversee daily operations, including conducting regular workflow meetings.

Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring customers receive a positive and professional experience at all times.

Manage bookings, estimates, and customer communications using the CRM system.

Handle invoicing, job tracking, and the preparation of KPI reports for management review.

Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

Proactive and solution-focused, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple responsibilities.

Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed targets and objectives.

Excellent customer service skills with a commercial mindset for identifying upsell opportunities.

Full UK driving licence is essential.
