We are seeking a skilled and motivated Workshop Supervisor to join our Water Consultancy and Equipment team in Thame
.

In this role you will build, assemble, test, and repair water treatment and pre‑treatment equipment to the highest standards, ensuring all work aligns with SOCOTEC procedures and specifications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reading and following all work and test instructions accurately.
  • Building equipment to specification from electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Electro‑mechanical assembly, including chassis, wiring, and pipework.
  • Constructing a range of water treatment systems such as Ozone, Cyclone Filtration, Water Softeners, Reverse Osmosis, Chlorine Dioxide, and Chemical Dosing systems.
  • Testing completed products and completing all associated test reports.
  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing returned equipment and providing status reports.
  • Carrying out repairs and service exchange work on water treatment equipment.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and well‑organised workspace.
  • Ensuring documentation and build notes/manuals are kept up to date.
  • Liaising with the line manager regarding build progress and expected completion times.
  • Occasionally attending off‑site locations to work alongside engineers.
  • Inspecting workshop tools, machinery, and equipment, and reporting any faults to management.

Essential qualifications:

  • Strong electro‑mechanical assembly skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing, testing, and wiring.
  • Ability to problem‑solve effectively.
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
  • Good computer literacy, including the use of iPads and software tools (SIM cards, Data/4G, VPN, etc.).
  • Understanding of IPC 620 wire and cable standards.
  • Basic knowledge of pressure testing and associated procedures.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and quality in all tasks.
  • Commitment to maintaining health and safety standards and following RAMs.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of water pre‑treatment processes and equipment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Forklift licence.
  • Full UK driving licence.
