Texas Air Salvage is looking for a skilled, aviation‑minded technician to join our aircraft dismantling and recovery team. This is a hands‑on, physically active role for someone who understands general aviation aircraft and works with tools like a craftsman. If you’ve spent real time around GA aircraft and take pride in precision workmanship, you’ll fit right in.
Role Description (What You’ll Do)- Dismantle general aviation aircraft with accuracy, care, and technical finesse
- Identify parts using manufacturer IPCs and ensure proper tagging, documentation, and condition assessment
- Perform computer data entry to inventory removed components
- Assist with field recovery operations, including on‑site disassembly, loading, and transport
- Work with a small, experienced team that values professionalism, safety, and craftsmanship
- Protect valuable components using proper techniques, tools, and judgment
- Strong general aviation background — experience with Cessna, Piper, Beech, Mooney, and similar GA aircraft
- Mastery of hand tools — finesse over force
- Ability to read and navigate aircraft IPCs confidently
- Physically fit and able to work in varied environments (hangar, field, heat, cold, tight spaces)
- Comfortable with computers and accurate data entry
- Capable of safely towing and operating a gooseneck flatbed trailer
- Able to travel with very short notice and remain on the road for several days
- Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus but not required
- A&P license not required, but GA experience is essential
- Work with a respected, long‑established aviation salvage operation
