Senior API Developer

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and implement large-scale distributed systems using microservices architecture.

• Demonstrate deep understanding of application, infrastructure, and security architecture, including non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.

• Translate functional requirements into high-quality architectural and technical designs.

• Collaborate with technical SMEs to understand requirements and ensure alignment to solution architecture.

• Define best practices, standards, and governance for microservices implementation.

• Identify, define, and implement reusable patterns and frameworks.

• Lead initiatives to build accelerators and tools that improve delivery quality and engineering productivity.

• Evaluate industry technologies to inform architectural decisions based on cost, scalability, compatibility, and usability.

• Drive continuous improvement across technologies, platforms, and systems to optimize efficiency and value.

• Highlight design risks, propose mitigation options, and recommend high-quality solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of technical experience in architecture, backend integration, and enterprise development.

• Strong hands-on experience developing Java/J2EE applications with solid Spring Boot expertise.

• Deep knowledge of SOA, microservices architecture, REST and SOAP service development.

• Proficiency in Core Java fundamentals, Java 8+, Spring, Spring Boot, JUnit, Cucumber, and related testing frameworks.

• Strong application of design patterns, clean coding principles, and architectural best practices.

• Hands-on experience developing scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, and SOAP services.

• Experience with middleware and messaging technologies such as MQ, JMS, Kafka, and event-driven patterns.

• Knowledge of Spring Cloud components.

• Experience working with API gateways and API management solutions.

• Hands-on experience writing deployment pipelines for deploying microservices to Kubernetes.

• Strong capability in defining Swagger specifications and applying REST principles.

• Knowledge of OAuth-based authentication and security protocols.

• Understanding of PCI and secure coding standards.

• Experience with MSSQL, data modelling, query optimisation, and performance tuning.

• Experience with business rule engines such as JBoss, JRules, jBPM, iLog, or Drools.

• Hands-on experience modelling business logic and automating processes using TIBCO Business Works and EMS.

• Experience migrating TIBCO services to Spring Boot microservices.

• Experience in gaming or hospitality domains.
