JOB TITLE – Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting different equipment and performing basic repairs or preventive maintenance when required. To do well in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools, and be able to read blueprints and repair manuals. This position reports directly to the Corporate Maintenance Manager. Training is provided to ensure complete understanding of position and department responsibilities.

Functions
  • Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Performing preventive maintenance.
  • Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
  • Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
  • Repairing machines, equipment, facilities, or structures as necessary.
  • Understands hazards of various gases and size and contents of cylinders.
  • Properly perform inspections of cylinders.
  • Properly and safely handle cylinders.
Required for All Jobs
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards
Work Experience
  • 1-3 years - Hands on Equipment Repair – Required
  • 0-1 years - Industrial Facility Experience - Required

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong level of attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to read and write and perform mathematical exercises.
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities.
  • Able to work extended shifts and/or weekends.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance.
  • Strong organizational and follow up skills.
  • Professional presentation and attitude.
  • Strong time management skills.
