Senior Diesel Technician – JC Davis Power

At JC Davis Power we deliver reliable, smart power solutions that keep construction sites safe, focused and ahead of schedule. We’re a full‑service jobsite operations partner, delivering and maintaining temporary power, climate control and associated services with one reliable crew – no handoffs, no confusion.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Diesel Technician with deep experience on large diesel engines to support power generation equipment, rebuilds and complex troubleshooting. This is not a routine service role – it’s for someone who enjoys solving hard problems, working independently and setting the standard for how equipment should be built, repaired and maintained.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, overhaul and maintain large diesel engines and power generation equipment
  • Perform engine rebuilds, top‑end overhauls and major component replacements
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and electronic engine systems
  • Conduct inspections, commissioning and functional testing
  • Interpret engine data, fault codes, wiring diagrams and service manuals
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying reliability and maintenance improvements
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and reports
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to resolve complex issues
  • Ensure all work complies with safety, quality and company standards
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Diesel Technician or Heavy Equipment Technician
  • Extensive experience with large‑bore diesel engines
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capability
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical and electronic engine systems
  • High attention to detail and strong workmanship standards
What Sets You Apart
  • Experience with power generation equipment or industrial applications
  • Familiarity with Cummins INSITE or similar diagnostic tools
  • Experience supporting rebuilds, upgrades or reliability improvements
  • Formal trade qualification (Diesel Technology or equivalent)
Compensation & Benefits
  • Employer‑paid medical insurance for employee and family
  • Employer‑paid group life insurance
  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • Employee‑paid dental, vision, short‑term disability and long‑term disability
  • Voluntary life, accident, illness and hospital coverage
