Combination Welder
Position Summary:
The primary responsibility is Tig/Mig/Stick welding. Stainless steel TIG welding proficiency is required for this role. Each job must be run with accuracy and timeliness as well as with the understanding and abiding by safety guidelines established by OSHA standards at all times.
- Valid Driver’s License (Class
C) and clean driving record. - Must be able to lift 80 lbs. on a daily basis.
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment. Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces.
- Must be willing and able to work Monday – Friday.
- Must be willing and able to travel overnight to various locations.
- TWIC card, or the ability to obtain one will also be considered.
- Drug Screening and criminal background checks are part of the hiring process.
- Tig/Mig/Stick welding, including Stainless steel TIG welding proficiency.
- Inspect welds for accuracy.
- Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting steel/aluminum parts.
- Responsible for the proper packaging, identifying, and moving of all finished products to the proper location.
- Ensure all equipment is properly set‑up, used in a safe manner, and that all safety devices are in use.
- Operate forklift, if required and trained.
- Will be required to cross‑train as back‑up in other areas.
- Other job‑related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.
- Reports directly to the shop foreman; daily interaction with operations and employees.
Safety, Quality, Accuracy, Timeliness, Reliability, and Thoroughness of work performed; develops good working relationships with all shop employees, co‑workers and other employees.
Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesMinimum of 4 years welding stainless steel pipe. Position requires good mathematical ability and the ability to operate precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measures. Pipe fitting experience.
Working ConditionsSome safety equipment must be worn when working with equipment in the shop. Bending, lifting and pushing up to 80 pounds is required. Must be able to work outdoors at all times, which requires physical strength and stamina to endure extreme heat, cold, and other conditions.
