The Electrical Maintenance Technician II/III supports field electrical maintenance activities across oil & gas operations, with a strong emphasis on electrical isolation (LOTO), preventive maintenance, and breakdown troubleshooting. This role is responsible for maintaining electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations while minimizing production downtime. The technician will work closely with operations, vendors, and contractors to execute maintenance activities in compliance with company SSHE standards.
Key Responsibilities Operations & Maintenance- Perform field electrical maintenance and electrical isolation (Lock Out/Tag Out – LOTO) for lighting, air conditioning, motors, and associated equipment
- Plan and execute scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective/breakdown maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot electrical systems to identify root causes of failures and implement corrective actions
- Support plant modifications in compliance with Management of Change (MOC) requirements
- Comply with and actively promote high Safety, Security, Health, and Environmental (SSHE) standards
- Utilize Observation Safety Techniques (OST) to report safe and unsafe acts
- Participate in responsible waste management practices
- Attend and actively participate in daily Operations morning shift meetings
- Work with vendors and subcontractors as required to complete maintenance activities
- Apply technical skills efficiently while identifying opportunities for improvement, cost savings, and simplification
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and operations teams regarding field conditions and recommended remediation steps
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a closely related electrical maintenance role, preferably within the
oil & gas industry - Valid and current Texas Journeyman or Master Electrician’s License (required)
- License number must be included on resume/submittal
- Experience with:
- Electrical maintenance in oilfield or industrial environments
- Powerline or powerline build projects (preferred)
- Oilfield electrical systems (preferred)
- Strong understanding of LOTO procedures and electrical safety practices
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Team-oriented with the ability to work effectively without direct authority
- Agency-supplied vehicle: ½ ton truck
