Job Overview

C. Miller Drilling is seeking a seasoned and proactive Water Well Drill Tool Pusher to lead our municipal and community water well drilling projects. This key leadership role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality drilling operations on-site, managing all aspects from crew supervision to equipment maintenance. Ideal candidates will bring hands-on mud rotary experience with Kelly Drive rigs and a forward-thinking mindset that keeps projects moving seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily drilling operations across one or more drill sites.
  • Coordinate and manage rig mobilization, rig-up, and rig-down procedures.
  • Oversee rig centering, leveling, and substructure setup.
  • Conduct and document all safety meetings; enforce safety compliance.
  • Maintain all drilling permits, MSDSs, logs, inspection documents, and site Drilling Plan.
  • Manage fuel, oil, rig parts, and safety equipment inventory on-site.
  • Identify and personally oversee all project-critical operations.
  • Maintain a mechanical log of drilling equipment issues and coordinate and perform repairs using in-shop and third-party resources.
  • Act as liaison between drilling crews, project managers, and subcontractors.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Tool Pusher on municipal/community water well drilling projects.
  • Strong mud rotary drilling experience with single & double-stand Kelly Drive rigs.
  • Strong mechanical experience and expertise required.
  • Experience installing both 2-piece and 1-piece municipal wells.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to think ahead and keep operations running smoothly.
  • No specific certifications required.

Schedule
  • Full-Time - Monday through Friday
  • Overtime as required based on project demands
Location

This position is field-based and requires travel to drilling sites. You will be responsible for managing on-site operations at project locations throughout the region.
