Diesel Technician – Perryton, TX
Transdev in Perryton, TX is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our fleet.
Compensation- Hourly rate: $26.00 – $32.00
- Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks
- Sick days: 5 days
- Holidays: 8 days (6 standard + 2 floating)

- Perform limited repairs and routine maintenance (e.g., light bulbs, fuses, belts, hoses, batteries, fluid checks, filter changes, lubrication) to keep vehicles safe and operational.
- Execute mechanical repairs under moderate supervision, including brakes, engine tune‑ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmissions and clutches.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, parts usage, and work orders.
- Conduct preventive maintenance (PM’s), safety inspections and annual inspections at prescribed intervals.
- Remove, replace and repair engine, transmission and differential assemblies.
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair.
- Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken.
- Evaluate completed work, seek approval where required, and assist with road calls and emergency services as needed.
- Adhere to Transdev standards, policies and procedures; move vehicles safely between job and work area; repair and maintain shop equipment; keep the shop clean and organized; and perform any additional responsibilities as requested or required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred); vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred).
- Class B CDL with air brake endorsement (preferred).
- State inspection license (if required).
- ASE Certification preferred.
- Intermediate mechanical aptitude and 5 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to maintain an organized, clean shop and adequate mechanic tool inventory.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
- Work outside in varying temperatures, weather, and humidity; 100% outdoors, work alone and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); walk long distances, flexibly on sloped or uneven surfaces.
- Push, pull and lift objects up to 50 lbs., occasionally bend, kneel or crouch.
- Tolerate dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
