DescriptionThe Aviation Maintenance and Sustainment (AMS) Division of Leidos has openings for A&P Mechanics located in El Paso, TX. The A&P Mechanic maintains aircraft in accordance with OEM specifications and FAA regulations. Working conditions range from environments with little physical discomfort to those with inclement weather, high noise, fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform duties within the hangar facility and aircraft movement area in a safe manner.
- Interpret and follow technical publications, including diagrams, drawings, charts, and instructions.
- Conduct daily pre‑ and post‑flight inspections.
- Service aircraft fuel, oil, hydraulic, oxygen, and nitrogen systems.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Rig engine, propeller, flight, and landing gear systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and avionics malfunctions and provide effective solutions.
- Document work on appropriate forms and electronic systems.
- Sign certification of work performed.
- Maintain aircraft appearance and cleanliness.
- Submit daily, weekly, or monthly reports as required.
- “Clean as you go” in the work area and follow all safety rules.
- Work hours may be adjusted for operational requirements, including a 5‑day work week Wednesday through Sunday.
- Complete all required training in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Lead Mechanic.
- High school diploma or equivalent and 3–5 years of prior relevant experience.
- U.S. citizen.
- Valid U.S. civilian driver’s license.
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Valid and current FAA A&P certification.
- Successful completion of a DoT drug test.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret‑level security clearance.
- Experience with Bombardier Global series aircraft or similar.
- Current or active DoD Secret‑level security clearance or higher.
