Context

Our client, a leading provider of equipment rentals, is seeking an energetic and experienced Business Development Manager to join their team in Rhome, TX
. This position offers a unique opportunity for a results-driven individual to expand market share, drive revenue, build client relationships, and manage an existing business development team. The ideal candidate will be motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of promoting a diverse portfolio of rental equipment, such as portable restrooms, power generators, light towers, dumpsters, waste tanks, water tanks, and temporary fencing.

The Business Development Manager will focus on generating new business while managing relationships with existing clients. Additionally, they will assist in leading and mentoring the current business development team. A company truck will be provided for the role. Previous experience in construction or development is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in sectors like construction, events, and infrastructure development.
  • Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, contractors, and project managers to become the go-to provider for rental equipment.
  • Oversee and guide the existing business development team, helping them achieve sales targets while ensuring they align with overall company objectives.
  • Engage in prospecting, market research, and networking to generate leads and secure new business. Build a robust network across industries to drive growth.
  • Conduct regular site visits and client meetings to understand project needs and tailor rental solutions. Offer hands‑on support to help clients with their specific requirements.
  • Negotiate rental contracts, terms, and pricing with clients to maximize profitability and secure long‑term business.
  • Develop and present customized proposals and quotes to prospective clients, showcasing the benefits and value of the company’s rental solutions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to adjust strategies and stay ahead of the market demands.
  • Work closely with operations, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure equipment is delivered on time and maintained as required.
  • Monitor sales performance, set quarterly and annual sales targets, and provide regular reports on progress.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote the company and establish new business relationships.
  • Ensure that all rental equipment adheres to safety standards and complies with legal requirements at customer sites.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the equipment rental, construction, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of rental equipment, including portable restrooms, power generators, light towers, dumpsters, waste tanks, water tanks, and temporary fencing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and guide a business development team.
  • Strong track record of generating revenue, acquiring new clients, and maintaining long‑term customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present proposals and close deals.
  • Highly motivated, energetic, and able to work independently while collaborating with internal teams.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales tools.
  • Ability to travel within the DFW area to meet clients, visit job sites, and attend industry events.
  • A company truck will be provided. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in construction, developments, or the rental equipment industry.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Existing network of contacts and relationships within the construction, events, or infrastructure industries.
  • Familiarity with equipment safety regulations and best practices related to the rental industry.
Compensation

$75,000-$150,000 per year
