Position Summary

The Feed Sales Associate is responsible for assisting in and becoming fully proficient in the entire sales process from lead generation through close. This individual will develop and implement an agreed‑upon marketing plan, expand and deepen the customer base, and work toward customer satisfaction, revenue generation and long‑term account goals in line with Livestock Nutrition Center’s vision and values.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Learn customized feed and product knowledge, technical selling skills, and industry information to engage in knowledgeable conversations about ranch operations with prospects and customers.
  • Adhere to guidance and recommendations from the Location Sales Lead for all sales functions.
  • Develop understanding of our formulation program, load/planner scheduling, pricing direction for plant, mineral program recommendations, and trademark product sales direction.
  • Become conversant in LNC pricing and proposal models.
  • Gather and analyze client or prospect information, with assistance as needed.
  • Maximize closing opportunities with a goal of gaining customer loyalty.
  • Serve as primary customer contact as assigned by the Location Sales Lead.
  • Build a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, direct mail, email, and networking, and report development promptly.
  • Sell consultatively and recommend solutions that fit customer needs.
  • Maintain accurate Salesforce CRM records of all sales and prospecting activities.
  • Utilize Salesforce CPQ to track sales opportunities, prepare consultative quotes, and manage the sales pipeline.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by greeting, acknowledging and assisting all customers.
  • Participate in developing educational programs for clients, prospects, and employees.
  • Assist in developing quarterly and yearly customer acquisition, retention, and growth plans with the Location Sales Lead.
  • Assist in collecting accounts receivable and identifying potential problems.
  • Assist in implementing marketing plans as needed.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
  • Work with Location Fulfillment Managers and follow operations protocols.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

  • Maintain contact with assigned clients to ensure high satisfaction.
  • Build trust, value others, communicate effectively, focus on the customer, collaborate, solve problems creatively, and demonstrate high integrity.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or Agriculture.
  • Basic understanding of agricultural business and market dynamics.
  • Willingness to travel and work within a team environment.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales quotas.
  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary for the role.
  • Strong communication skills with associates and customers.
  • Accurate reading, counting and writing for documentation.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lb.
  • Availability for varied hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Mobile smart‑phone with email and data access.
  • Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office suites.
