Key Responsibilities

General QA/QC

  • Develop, implement, and enforce QA/QC procedures and ITP for PDC buildings.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, ITPs, and quality plans prior to fabrication and installation.
  • Perform inspections throughout fabrication, assembly, and installation phases.
  • Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs, and verify corrective actions to close NCRs.
  • Coordinate with engineering, fabrication, and project management teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain QA/QC documentation, inspection reports, and turnover packages.

Structural & Building QA/QC

  • Visually inspect structural steel, welds, coatings, anchoring systems, and building envelope components.
  • Verify building dimensions, penetrations, roofing, and wall systems.
  • Coordinate with third-party inspectors as required.

Electrical QA/QC & Testing

  • Perform hands-on electrical inspections and testing of low- and medium-voltage systems in PDC buildings.
  • Execute and/or supervise testing in accordance with NETA ATS / NETA ECS standards, including:
  • Insulation resistance testing
  • Continuity testing
  • Ground resistance and grounding system testing
  • Torque verification and mechanical integrity checks
  • Functional testing of protective devices and control systems
  • Verify installation and performance of:
  • Switchgear (SWGR), LV/MV MCCs, transformers, UPS systems, and distribution panels
  • Control cabinets, PLC panels, protection relays, and metering systems
  • Interpret electrical one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
  • Identify deficiencies, document results, and implement corrective actions prior to FAT/SAT.
  • Support and lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities.
  • Ensure all electrical systems meet NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL, NETA and project-specific requirements.

QA/QC Documentation & Compliance

  • Develop and execute Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Complete inspection reports, test records, and QA/QC documentation.
  • Track NCRs and punch list items to resolution.
  • Assemble turnover packages including test results, as-built drawings, certifications, and NETA-compliant documentation.
  • Act as primary electrical QA/QC authority on assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with engineers, vendors, inspectors, and testing agencies.
  • Mentor other technicians and inspectors on proper testing methods.
  • Enforce electrical safety procedures and LOTO practices.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or electrical degree preferred.
  • 7–10 years of hands-on electrical experience including QA/QC and testing.
  • Demonstrated experience performing NETA-compliant electrical testing.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70 / 70E, NETA ATS / ECS, IEEE, and UL standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
  • Experience with mission-critical or redundant power systems.
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Hands-on role in shop and field environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Regular work around energized equipment following safety procedures.
