Responsible for inspecting production items to the critical criteria stated in the drawing and maintain personal responsibility of the inspection via a stamp or personal signature. The QCI is required to have a high degree of ethics and must be able to denote and elevate problems/discrepancies as they are identified. The Quality Control Inspector will determine the reputation of the product out in the marketplace.
** Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*** Responsible for ensuring that the product or service is performed to the requirements stated in the associated Drawing or the Shop Router/Work Instructions.
* Checks each item of equipment used for inspection previous to use to verify that it is within the required calibration cycle.
* Reads blueprints and determines tolerances
* Conducts work with the use of a standard micrometer, inside and outside diameter micrometers, dial, digital and vernier calipers
* Inspects each part to the required dimensions stated in the drawing in a timely manner in order to support production. Communicates to supervisor if unable to inspect the part in a timely manner.
* Performs other related duties as required.
** Minimum Qualifications
*** High School education or equivalent required. Some college courses preferred.
* Experience in QC/QA preferred.
* Experience in CMM preferred.
* ASME Certification GDTP (Y14.5) a plus
* Must be able to read Blueprints and understands tolerances and knows to ask their supervisor if tolerances are not specified on the drawing.
* Can read and use a Standard Micrometer, inside and outside diameter micrometers, Dial, Digital and Vernier Calipers with proficiency
* Occasional travel may be required
* Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

* Ability to use sophisticated computer software programs to achieve job functions
* Sitting – at desk or computer station, standing, walking, speaking, hearing – frequent
* Bending/Stooping, twisting, lifting – occasional
* Gripping, reaching, writing, fingering (data entry), handling (paper, files, etc) – frequent
* Able to work under stressful conditions at times
* Fine Motor Skills - typing, 10-key, ability to write for extended periods of time
* Communication - phone communication, communication with personnel and vendors
* Seeing - able to see the computer screen
* Climbing - able to go up and down stairs
* Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week unless otherwise directed by supervisor
