Mercy Ships is seeking a Landscape Technician who will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and enhancement of landscapes across a large campus environment. The position involves a variety of tasks including planting, mulching, edging, seasonal cleanups, and irrigation system support. You will operate hand tools, small machinery, and landscaping equipment safely while working closely with crew members to ensure projects are completed on time and with exceptional quality.

How

You’ll Contribute
  • Maintains lawns including mowing, edging, weeding, planting, fertilizing, seeding & trimming.
  • Maintains and improves landscape beds by planting, transplanting, watering, fertilizing, applying chemicals, pruning and weeding flower beds & planting areas.
  • Maintains flowers, bushes, trees & shrubs.
  • Maintains Irrigation.
  • Safely operates landscaping equipment, hand tools & small machinery.
  • Picks up & dispose of litter.
  • May operate a motor vehicle to transport materials & equipment.
  • May assist with snow & ice removal.
  • Other duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate
  • Knowledge of horticulture methods
  • Ability to use hand tool and other applicable equipment.
  • Interpreting & completing landscape plans.
  • Knowledge of fertilizer & pesticide applications.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow & enforce safety procedures.
  • Collaboration/Teamwork, Decision-making, Maintenance, Multi-tasking, Organizational Skills, Problem solving, Time Management, Customer Service, Project Management
Education & Experience
  • Two years landscaping experience is preferred.
  • Or equivalent combination of experience and education
