Position

POOL TECHNICIAN (FULL‑TIME) – Ottine Mineral Springs is seeking a full‑time, detail‑oriented Pool Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and efficient operation of all pools, hot tubs, and water features. This role is crucial in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, water quality, and guest satisfaction in our aquatic areas.

Position requires some nights, weekends and holidays.

No pool maintenance experience required! We are open to training the right candidate. We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a positive and coachable attitude, and a team‑first mindset. Flexibility, reliability, and a willingness to jump in and help where needed are key. Attitude and culture fit are our top priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily inspections and maintenance of pools, hot tubs, and water features including draining pools, cleaning, vacuuming, and chemical balancing.
  • Monitor water chemistry and adjust chemicals to maintain safe levels according to health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct routine checks and repairs of pool equipment such as pumps, filters, heaters, and other equipment.
  • Identify and address any potential hazards of maintenance issues ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Implement and adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of water testing, chemical usage, and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with the Pools Supervisor and Facilities Manager to develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to any pool‑related issues reported by guests or staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all local and state regulations regarding pool safety and maintenance.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures for pools at the beginning and end of each season.
  • Provide courteous and professional assistance to all guests, including supporting those with accessibility needs to ensure safe and enjoyable use of pool facilities in compliance with ADA guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness of pool decks, surrounding areas, and equipment storage spaces.
  • Provide excellent customer service, offering assistance to guests as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Ability to work nights, weekdays, weekends and holidays.
  • Six (6) months experience in pool maintenance or related field preferred.
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pool chemistry, filtration systems, and maintenance procedures.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and professional communication skills are critical.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach.
  • Previous experience with pool equipment repair (e.g., pumps, sand filters, steamer pumps) preferred but not required.
  • CPR and first aid certification a plus and /or the willingness to be trained.
  • Ability to walk or stand and move about the resort (both indoors and outdoors) for eight or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push and pull items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and procedures, and the capacity to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • The person in this position will need to be comfortable working in an indoor/outdoor use space.
