Assistant, Weekend Kennel (Hourly)

In charge of cleaning cages, administering medication, providing animals with food and water, and walking dogs.

• Prepare food for dogs and cats
• Walk/exercise dogs and cats
• Clean and sanitize dog and cat cages/runs
• Administer oral/topical medications
• Basic housekeeping (mopping, sweeping, laundry)
• Enter patient notes into practice management software

• Basic animal care
• Animal behavior

• Basic animal care experience in areas such as feeding, animal ward sanitization, dog walking, cat care, and oral medication administration

• Basic computer skills

• Work is performed in a veterinary kennel setting
• Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling
• Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds

• Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.

$23.00/hour
