** Family Nurse Practitioner
** at the College of Nursing delivers primary care, evaluations, and treatment in a mobile school-based clinical setting. Provides primary care to students, faculty, staff, community members and families participating in the East Texas Nursing Mobile Clinic while working collaboratively with an interprofessional team. Travels to the various Mobile Clinic sites to provide services.
Will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.
** Required
Education and Experience
** Master of Science in Nursing or higher with national board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. One year directly related experience serving as a Family Nurse Practitioner
** Preferred Qualifications
** Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications Knowledge of standard nursing procedures and techniques Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
Experience working with individuals in rural or medically underserved communities Active license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner in the state of Texas with prescriptive authority and national board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner State of Texas class 'C' vehicle operator's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
** Responsibilities
* * Performs history, psychosocial, and physical examinations, diagnosis of acute, chronic, and urgent/episodic primary care conditions, formulates therapeutic plans, interprets laboratory and diagnostic imaging, electrocardiographic exams, medication management, and provides education to patients and their families. Experience all that a big city has to offer but with a reasonable cost-of-living and no long commutes.
