Get to Know Your Team:
* UT Health Quitman offers 25 private rooms, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, surgical suites, advanced diagnostics, swing bed care, cardiopulmonary rehab, on-site physician clinics, and a sleep lab.
Responsibilities
* Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
* Prioritizes patient care need based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient's needs.
* Delivers care consistent with physician's orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing
* Current Texas RN license
* BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) before end of orientation
* Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) before end of orientation
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) before end of orientation
* NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification before the end of orientation
Preferred
Job Requirements:
* One year of emergency nursing experience
* Two years of acute care nursing experience
* CEN
