Registered Nurse

Major / Essential Functions

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care at the Dalby Unit.
• Administer medications safely and accurately, following facility protocols.
• Document and communicate patient information using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to support clinical decision-making.
• Assist with exams, treatments, and procedures—preparing and operating medical equipment as needed.
• Complete thorough intake and discharge documentation, including patient histories.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked, and functional care areas and medical equipment.
• Step in as a relief charge nurse when needed, providing guidance and support to nursing staff.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers, including reporting on patient transfers and significant changes.

The Dalby Unit operates 24 hours a day with consistent 12‑hour shifts: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (day) and 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (night).

Compensation is commensurate with the qualifications of the successful candidate and the departmental budget. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website.

License / Certification: Current RN license in the state of Texas (or ability to transfer to Texas) or scheduled to complete a program of nursing within 120 days of application. Graduated from an approved accredited nursing program. New graduates must pass the NCLEX‑RN on the first attempt.

Experience: No experience required.
