Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. The new 18‑bed facility located on I20 was dedicated in 2012 and serves as a Critical Access Hospital.

Cover open shifts, both day and night, in patient care departments wherever needed to ensure adequate staffing levels. Have principal responsibility for total nursing care, assessment, documentation, planning, implementation, evaluation and discharge process of each assigned patient to attain optimal health and continuity of care. Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and in keeping with current clinical nursing practice.

Direct, monitor and evaluate care delegated to non‑licensed personnel ensuring the plan of care is carried out in a safe environment.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Knowledge of nursing theories and practices. Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Current Registered Nurse license certified by the State of Texas required. PALS, TNCC and ACLS preferred.
• One (1) year experience as a Professional Registered Nurse in a hospital environment preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.

• Must be available to work all shifts.
• Must be available to cover open shifts, both day and night, wherever there is a need to ensure adequate staffing levels.
• Must be available to respond and report to work within two (2) hours when called upon due to staffing situation demands.
• Work a minimum of 36 hours per work week.
• Attendance will be considered a part of the performance standard. Poor attendance (two (2) cancellations of scheduled work, and/or two (2) declinations of requests to work during staffing situation demands) may be considered grounds for removal of Float Pool position.
