Marbridge is seeking a skilled and motivated position.

Part-Time Grant Writer

To support our mission by securing funding through grants, partnerships, sponsor ships, and other philanthropic opportunities. This role is essential in helping us create meaningful impact for our residents, families, employees, and the broader community.

The Grant Writer is responsible for researching and identifying grant opportunities, developing compelling proposals, and managing the full lifecycle of the grant application process for both unrestricted operating funds and restricted project needs. This position also prepares clear, timely, and accurate reports for all awarded grants.

Shift Available

Part-time Hybrid position with schedule flexibility based on volume and organizational needs. The Grant Writer must have flexibility to work during business hours (M-F 8a-4p) to collaborate with the Grant Manager and engage in meetings, event planning, and other organizational happenings. Position will work a minimum of 10 hours per work week, not to exceed 30 hours per work week dependent on workload.

Qualifications

and Skills
  • A Bachelors’ degree from a four-year college or university; or 4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong computer proficiency with all MS Office Suite products, especially MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe, foundation research bases, a CRM or donor database, and Outlook
    365.
  • Previous experience with non-profit grant writing – medical or special needs populations a plus. Knowledge of the needs of those who have disabilities (cognitive and/or physical, the elderly and/or senior citizens, and/or vulnerable populations.
  • Must be able to perform under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the full lifecycle of grant development, including researching opportunities, preparing proposals, submitting applications, and managing awarded grants for public and private funders.
  • Conduct in‑depth prospective research to identify and evaluate potential foundation and corporate funding sources.
  • Collaborate closely with the Grants Manager to gather departmental data, program details, and supporting materials needed for proposals.
  • Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all reporting requirements set by foundation and corporate donors.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with funders, donors, and community partners.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Marbridge’s history, mission, and program offerings to effectively communicate organizational impact.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date grant records—both in the donor database and physical files—including tracking deadlines, submissions, and reporting schedules.
  • Obtain organizational approval prior to pursuing any funding opportunities on behalf of Marbridge.
  • Provide monthly progress updates and reporting to the supervisor.
  • Support additional fundraising initiatives and special projects as needed.
  • Use creative and strategic approaches to engage current and prospective funders and sustain long‑term support.
  • Protect the confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands

Those that are present in normal office environment conditions and infrequently may involve lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, frequent walking and sitting for extended periods of time; must be able to lift up to 10 pounds; requires normal range of hearing and vision; use of personal computer and telephone (eye and hand strain).
