Overview
Parents Step Ahead (PSA), a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking a mission‑driven, relationship‑oriented, and creative Executive Director to lead the growth and delivery of PSA’s parenting education initiatives across North Texas and further its vision to be a premier nonprofit in the state with national recognition for its ability to meet its mission. This role provides strategic leadership, oversees daily operations, and works closely with the Board of Directors, volunteers, and community partners.
ResponsibilitiesCommunity & School Engagement
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the organization.
- Manage day‑to‑day operations, programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with school districts and campus leaders.
- Meet and coordinate with partners at school sites to present PSA’s curriculum and secure new school partnerships.
- Oversee budgeting, financial management, and fundraising.
- Steward all aspects of conducting classes (in‑person and virtual).
- Support and collaborate with the Board of Directors.
- Represent PSA publicly and advocate for its mission.
- Oversee the delivery and implementation of current parenting education programs.
- Based on robust needs assessments, identify, create, and deliver new programs.
- Track attendance and monitor quality and impact by conducting post‑program evaluations.
- Supervise interns assisting with the preparation and delivery of all programs.
- Manage PSA’s social media with support from content creators.
- Ensure messaging is aligned with programs and community engagement.
- Develop a clear content strategy, highlighting parent stories and student successes.
- Collaborate with PSA’s grant writer to align data and narratives.
- Collect, maintain, and analyze program outcomes for reports and proposals.
- Identify needs that inform new funding opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, communications, or a related field.
- 2‑4 years’ experience in nonprofit management, administration, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Effective organization skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Highly developed self‑directed performance and learning skills.
- Knowledge of fundraising, budgeting, and program development.
- Familiarity with school education systems and family engagement programs in North Texas.
- Proficient in Canva, Mailchimp, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and a range of social media tools.
- $70,000 per year
