Position SummaryWe are seeking an innovative, organized, and detail-oriented CAD Drafter responsible for developing 3D models and drawings for metal fabrication projects. This role involves collecting and updating information on-site and in the plant, direct collaboration with production, suppliers, and clients, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and delivery deadlines.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop 3D models and manufacturing drawings with tolerances and detailed notes in AutoCAD and Solid Works (sheet metal and welded parts).
Create and release work orders, material lists, and sheet metal cut lists.
Collect and update product data in the plant and in the field as needed.
Quote materials and assist in preparing customer-based estimates.
Monitor manufacturing to ensure quality, technical specifications, and on-time delivery.
Coordinate with production, suppliers, sales, and customer service to ensure accurate information flow.
Participate in process optimization and cost reduction whenever possible.
Authorization to work in the United States (valid work permit or status required).
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Bachelor's degree in Design, Engineering, or related field (or postgraduate degree).
Minimum 1 year of experience in the metal-mechanical industry.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solid Works (sheet metal & weldments).
Knowledge of technical drawing standards.
Understanding of engineering materials, blueprint reading, metal profiles, and fasteners.
Experience with measuring instruments such as tape measure and caliper.
GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in Solid Works and CNC machining.
Certifications:
CSWA, CSWP (weldments, sheet metal).

Possible exposure to noise or heat.
