JOB TITLE:Electrical Assembler Level 2
DEPARTMENT:Assembly
REPORTS TO:Team Lead Electrical Assembly
SUMMARY:Perform manual labor in a production environment; assembling parts of various product lines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Read, interpret and follow wiring diagrams, unit drawings, schematics, P&IDs, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
- Prepare product electrically for final testing, including testing, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Assemble components, devices and wiring per assembly drawings.
- Understand and troubleshoot wiring issues.
- Mount, install, attach or perform similar operations with components or subassemblies into assemblies.
- Use basic hand, air and power tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, cutting wheels, etc.).
- Connect component lead wires to printed circuit or route and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals and contact points.
- Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
- Perform complex layout and component mounting according to drawings under close supervision and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Drill and tap holes in specified locations to mount components on a specific assembly using hand and power tools.
- Terminate all electrical wiring according to wiring diagrams using proper tools.
- Learn to pack glands with Kopex.
- Confer with supervisor and engineering to plan and review activities so issues regarding production, quality or procedural problems may be identified and resolved.
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Two to four years of experience or related experience.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to perform simple math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) including with fractions.
- Attendance/Punctuality – Is consistently at work and on time;
