Wastewater Technician - Comfort, TX

Job Summary

To operate, monitor, maintain and troubleshoot the wastewater treatment facility and its processes. This opportunity is located at our Manufacturing Facility in Comfort, TX. Schedule is Monday - Friday; 8 AM - 4:30 PM. This position is a floater position providing coverage to other campuses in Kerrville and Fredericksburg when necessary.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

* Responsible for the technical aspects of wastewater operations, compliance with state and federal operating regulations, and the underground system.

* Performs the installations, maintenance and repair of the wastewater plant and pump stations and all their components.

* Maintains open communication with the manager regarding the treatment process and pump stations operations and malfunctions, as well as making recommendations for repairs and improvements to systems.

* Performs daily checks of the wastewater treatment process and periodic checks of pump stations.

* Assists in the performance of regular and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all manufacturing and wastewater plant equipment and machinery.

* Assists in maintaining the parts inventory area.

* Performs preventative maintenance assignments as needed.

* Exhibits flexibility by adjusting to changing priorities.

* Removes all full manufacturing barrels from plants to KCC and delivers metal waste for recycling.

* Maintains trash pickup on grounds.

* Maintains tools, equipment, and vehicle in good working order.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

* High School Diploma or equivalent.

* Experience with preventive maintenance and repair of basic machinery and equipment.

* Basic computer skills required including SCADA and Excel data entry.

Preferred Qualifications

* Two years' experience with maintenance, repair or technical related field.

* Working knowledge of the machinery used for wastewater treatment and pumping station.

* Basic knowledge of state and federal rules governing wastewater discharges and worker safety.
