Position
Rotating Equipment Technician – Mont Belvieu Complex
Position SummaryThis position will be responsible for working at the Mont Belvieu Complex as a Rotating Equipment Technician. The technician will ensure the safe installation, maintenance, and proper operation of rotating equipment. Duties include performing structured preventative maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) assignments using written job plans and procedures.
Job Functions andKey Responsibilities
- Maintain pumps, steam turbines, reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, and all rotating equipment
- Maintain gear boxes, cooling fans, couplings
- Maintain company vehicles and assist Operations in locking out equipment and verifying equipment is left fail‐safe
- Perform laser shaft alignment
- Handle mechanical seals, pump and compressor seals, and all lubrication systems
- Operate mechanical governors
- Maintain all ancillary equipment
- Complete work orders within the CMMS (MAXIMO) system
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Plant equipment maintenance experience
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to interface with all crafts, personnel, and vendors; ability to work in a self‑directed work group
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage time and priorities when given multiple tasks
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call‑outs as needed to fulfill business objectives
- Follow and adhere to all applicable PPE guidelines (e.g., eye protection, footwear, FRC)
- Proficiency or ability to learn use of tools including hydraulic torque wrenches, laser alignment, dial indicators, micrometers, and other precision tools
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, IE)
- Experience working with a CMMS (SAP, MAXIMO)
- Related work experience preferred
- Experience with laser shaft alignment
- Experience with mechanical seals, mechanical governors, equipment installation
- Familiarity with P&IDs, blueprints, and asset details
- Experience with pipe fitting, turbines, pumps, compressors, motors
- Experience with tubing, cooling towers, all ancillary rotating equipment
- Experience with procurement and computerized maintenance system
- Proficiency with precision instruments
- Minimum 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in an NGL or chemical facility
- Full exposure to extreme weather changes and humidity/moisture variations, including extreme summer and winter temperatures, rain, sleet, and snow
- Work performed in an industrial environment (indoor or outdoor) with various hazards and noise exposure
- Travel may be required for assignments, meetings, and training
- Availability for rotating on‑call schedule, unscheduled call‑outs, and extended workdays/workweeks
- Overtime, weekend, and/or holiday hours may be required as directed by business needs
