Key Responsibilities
A. Fire Safety Management
- Lead and manage the Fire Safety Management System (FSMS) in full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Develop, implement, and periodically review fire safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans
- Conduct fire risk assessments and coordinate regular fire drills and evacuation exercises
- Ensure all fire protection systems (alarm, sprinkler, hydrant, extinguishers, smoke control, etc.) are inspected, tested and maintained in accordance with statutory codes
- Liaise with SCDF and relevant authorities for inspections, audits, certifications and regulatory submissions
- Investigate fire incidents and unsafe conditions; implement corrective and preventive measures
- Conduct fire safety training and awareness programmes for staff and contractors
B. Workplace Safety & Health (WSHO Duties)
- Develop and maintain the Workplace Safety & Health Management System (WSHMS) in compliance with WSH Act and subsidiary regulations
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with permit-to-work and safe work procedures
- Maintain statutory safety records and documentation
- Liaise with MOM and relevant authorities during inspections and audits
- Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives
C. Emergency & Operational Support
- Support integrated emergency response planning and crisis management
- Coordinate with Facilities Management team to ensure safety integration across all operations
- Prepare safety and compliance reports for management and regulatory submission
- Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, Occupational Safety & Health, or related discipline
- Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO)
- Certified Senior Fire Safety Manager (SFSM)
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in fire safety and WSH management
- Strong knowledge of statutory regulations and emergency response procedures
- Good leadership, communication, and incident management skills
