Job Summary
The Operations Support Supervisor is responsible for the support, organization, coordination and presentation of data and analyses relating to operational budgets, forecasting, financial variance analysis, resource management, project metrics and providing support to field staff. They execute the procure to pay process with their team of operational planners and field clerks. They provide their team with training and resources to support the field operations team.
The Role is within the US Onshore Operations Team and can be in the Houston or Tilden Office. The successful may work up to two (2) days a week remotely, as business needs allow.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, forecast, and process operational expenses (OPEX) related to field operations
- Supervise field clerks and operations planners to execute OPEX budgeting, forecasting, and spend tacking.
- Coordinate with field personnel who set up and operate various machines and equipment
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements
- Collaborate with relevant teams to create accurate forecasts for budget planning
- Oversee administrative tasks related to field operations including PO creation and invoice processing
- Process reports, invoices, and other relevant documentation
- Maintain accurate records of rental equipment and field vehicles
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) across different functions
- Develop an OPEX optimization program based on operational performance indicators
- Implement a monthly OPEX review with Operations General Manager and superintendents to review past, current and future OPEX.
- Monitor and control operations from a holistic perspective, supporting the Operations General Manager, with the objective to increase Cash Flow
- Define and implement a chemicals accountability process
- Improve Purchase Order process to improve accountability
- Identify processes where the Operations Department might optimize G&A
- Support Operations General Manager in negotiation with partners and with major vendors
- Provide support for the Engineering team with cost tracking, accruals and forecasting
Qualifications/Requirements
- Associate’s degree and minimum 10 years’ experience in oil & gas or similar industry with 3 years of supervisory experience
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Proficiency in process improvement methodologies
Th e individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Desired/ Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, accounting or another related field
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in oil & gas or similar industry with 5 years of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated experience with data mining and trend identification
- Experience with project management financial reporting within a corporate environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Independent thinker, ability to anticipate
- Proven ability to identify and solve problems
- Experience with new system implementation(s) or creating databases
