This role is responsible for the direct leadership and development of Cardiology Territory Managers and Sales Associates across an assigned region. The Regional Sales Manager drives execution of regional sales strategy, builds strong customer relationships, and delivers consistent performance against revenue and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all medical device sales activities within the region, including planning, organizing, and executing regional sales programs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and clinical stakeholders throughout the territory.
- Consistently meet or exceed regional performance targets, including order volume, booked revenue, and profitability goals.
- Manage pricing discipline, expenses, and overall financial performance to support sustainable growth.
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and retain high-performing sales professionals.
- Foster a collaborative, high-engagement team culture; lead by example and inspire strong execution.
- Communicate, implement, and track progress against regional and national strategic initiatives.
- Develop Territory Managers through regular field coaching, feedback, and performance management.
- Spend an average of four days per week in the field supporting and coaching sales representatives.
- Assess Territory Manager performance and adherence to regional expectations; address gaps and elevate results.
- Serve as a regional subject matter expert on product offerings, competitive landscape, and positioning strategy.
- Reinforce product messaging and sales strategy through hands-on field engagement.
- Represent the organization in a professional, ethical, and compliant manner.
- Communicate openly with cross-functional partners and leadership; share insights and best practices.
- Analyze regional trends, pipeline activity, and performance data; provide regular reporting and recommendations.
- Directly supervise field sales personnel in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, recognition, and corrective action as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience within cardiology, medical device, or pharmaceutical environments.
- 5+ years of experience in medical device sales management, including direct field leadership.
