** Key Responsibilities
*** Manage the health and safety functions for Connect Sydney and the SRAP Contract.
* Advise the Connect Sydney’s management team on health, safety and wellbeing concepts and collaborate with TfNSW on implementing safe, caring and reliable HSEQ practices.
* Implement an effective safety auditing program to provide assurance of regulatory compliance and maintain currency of all associated documentation.
* Assess subcontractor HSE submissions, lead onboarding meetings and SWMS reviews, conduct initial site surveillance.
* Oversee and participate in inductions, training, toolbox meetings, investigations, monitor and review contractor safety procedures.
* Assist management to ensure it has adequate risk management processes in place to identify and control its relevant hazards.
* Coordinate internal and external audits of management systems and ensure that compliance obligations and hazards are undertaken according to the level of underlying risk.
* Oversee incident investigation to meet internal and regulatory time frames.
* Ensure compliance/recertification audits are scheduled and conducted in a timely manner.
* Ensure WHS & E records are maintained.
* Produce safety related business cases/cost proposals for the upcoming forward works program.
* Manage the WHSE budget and propose new annual budgets with justification for the upcoming year.
* Ensure all subcontractor engagement processes are followed, and subcontractor surveillance is being undertaken onsite.
** About You
** As the successful candidate, you will have:
* Tertiary qualification and relevant industry experience working as a Health and Safety Manager (Maintenance or Construction background desirable).
* Auditor qualifications in OHS, Environment & Quality discipline.
* OFSC Experience and Knowledge is desirable.
* Experience with ISO
45001 principles is desirable.
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable.
