The Maintenance Supervisor III performs advanced (senior-level) supervisory maintenance and construction work administering the daily operations and activities of the Maintenance Department for the hospital. Work involves supervising maintenance staff, scheduling and assigning work, requisitioning materials, and supplies, estimating job work hours and materials required for projects, maintenance and repair and as well as preventive maintenance programs, and coordinating activities with other maintenance and ancillary supervisors.

Oversees contractual work performed by contractors and ensures work is verified and invoices are submitted in a timely manner. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initial response, decision making, and independent judgment of proactive, reactive, and emergent work.

Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.

Essential Job Functions (EJFs)

Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. May serve in an on-call status on a rotating schedule as required to meet operational needs of the facility.

Supervises and oversees maintenance and construction staff. Schedules and assigns work based on prioritized life safety code requirements to ensure code compliance. Requests materials and supplies as required for assigned construction projects, estimates work hours and materials cost required for projects. Coordinates all assigned work activities with Maintenance Facility supervisors. Performs cost analysis, resource assessments and estimates, and plans and/or coordinates with Assistant Director…
