Maintenance Worker - Generalist

Job Title: Maintenance Worker - Generalist

Reports To: Director of Site and Support Services
Employment Type: Full-Time (12‑Month)

Position Overview

Experienced maintenance generalist, reporting to the Director of Site and Support Services, to provide general maintenance and facilities support service around a wide range of activities.

Responsibilities

• General Building maintenance including, but not limited to:
• Repair of equipment, building, furniture
• General carpentry
• Light construction
• Painting
• Moves of equipment, furniture
• Grounds – field striping and other grounds maintenance
• Events - set-up and tear-down
• Participate in activities around campus logistics, as needed
• Building maintenance including light electrical, plumbing and carpentry
• General cleaning
• Event set-up including moving equipment, furniture and other items
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 5 years experience in general maintenance
• Clean and valid NYS driver’s license
• Able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends, when needed
• Demonstrated verbal communication skills
• Friendly and enjoys interacting with people

Job Type: Full-time, 12-month, Non-exempt (hourly)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day shift 7:00am-3:30pm

Working Environment & Physical Requirements

• Most of the work is done standing
• Routinely move about inside and outside the buildings
• Frequent interaction with others through speaking, listening, and typing
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment
