Position summary:

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform advanced maintenance operations in the East and West Bexar county area during the day shift, specifically in Debris Removal. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway drainage maintenance and TMA driving, and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Hires will be based in San Antonio, TX.

Required Experience

Must know how to operate chainsaw

TMA driving (1 year experience)

Exposure to using shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, & various small hand tools

Minimum 2 Years Of Related Experience

Construction or Roadway maintenance experience

MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses)

Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Fork Lift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator

Preferred Experience:Roadway maintenance experience

CDL license a plus

Bilingual:
English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required

Clean driving record is essential

Must pass criminal background check

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED

Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)

Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations

Carry out simple arithmetic functions

Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job

Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology

Ability to use smart phone and applications

Ability to adjust to changing work schedule

Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions

Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds

Ability to operate hand/power tools

Schedule

Full time;
Night shift . Must be able to work weather events such as snow, ice, and floods. Must also be flexible to work rotating shifts according to client requests, including day shift.

Night shift hours are typically 8pm - 5am. Sunday-Wednesday, some Thursdays.

Day shift hours are typically 7:30am - 4pm.
