DescriptionHorseshoe Bay Resort is looking to add a PM Shift Engineer to our Facilities Maintenance Team. The Engineer will handle day‑to‑day work challenges confidently, adjust to multiple demands, shift priorities, and evaluate critical guest‑room and resort‑amenities issues to make logical decisions and solve problems. The role requires overnight shift availability.

Perform the duties of the Engineer on Duty (EOD) professionally and efficiently, assisting guests in their guestrooms and addressing internal customer needs throughout the resort. The role requires managing daily challenges, adapting to shifting priorities, and making sound decisions to resolve issues effectively.
General Duties- Repair hardware, plumbing, electrical equipment in guest rooms (lamps, air conditioners, cosmetic items), replace switches and outlets, program TVs.
- Repair and adjust hardware, plumbing, electrical, HVAC equipment, and cosmetic items in public areas.
- Monitor fire alarm/life‑safety systems and handle emergencies; know fire sprinkler and emergency power systems.
- Observe and report energy and utility usage; propose conservation ideas.
- Maintain tools and equipment: clean, lubricate, protect; return tools to proper storage.
- Respond to emergencies; act to protect guests and associates and restore normal operations quickly.
- Prevent accidents and maintain safety; correct hazardous conditions immediately.
- Read, log, and interpret meters and gauges; maintain activity logs and handovers.
- Assist with departmental duties, keep engineering areas clean, and support resort operations as directed.
- Complete all work safely and professionally; maintain communication with supervisors for supplies and materials.
- Provide training and technical advice to other engineers when requested.
- Comprehend reading materials, speak, read, and write English.
- Maintain equipment with minimal downtime; provide daily maintenance under Engineering Management direction.
- Support and improve engineering services addressing guest and associate issues.
- Train and instruct staff, sharing knowledge for their development.
- Analyze problems and formulate action plans for efficient, high‑quality work.
- Read safety documents (Lockout/Tagout, MSDS); write routine reports, keep logs and correspondence.
- Work flexible hours; may be scheduled at less than or more than 40 hours per week.
- Remain professional under high‑stress situations and communicate effectively.
- Follow all resort rules and policies.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Minimum age 21+ for driving resort vehicle.
- Valid driver’s license and meet insurability requirements.
- OSHA Hazard Communication Standard training (certified).
- High school diploma with emphasis in technical trades.
- Physical strength, stamina, and agility to perform assigned duties.
- Lift and move up to 10, 50, and occasionally 100 pounds.
- Maintain neat and clean appearance.
- Walk, sit, and ascend/descend stairs as routine.
- Communicate accurately, both written and verbal, to general public and associates.
- Work independently without supervision.
- Adhere to company safety and security policies.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Apply problem‑solving skills; maintain a safe, clean, environmentally responsible work environment.
- Collaborate with coworkers and work as part of a team.
- Apply sanitation procedures appropriately.
