Human Resources & Safety CoordinatorThe Human Resources & Safety Coordinator provides high-level administrative HR support while playing a critical role as the primary safety coordinator for the facility
.
The main focus of this position is safety — supporting, monitoring, and improving environmental health and safety programs to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
This role also supports HR operations including onboarding, benefits, personnel transactions, timekeeping, and employee relations, all while promoting a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace.
Safety (Primary Focus)- Serve as a key safety leader on-site; promote a safe and compliant work environment.
- Support and coordinate the site safety committee and departmental safety meetings.
- Maintain and organize all safety documentation and employee training records.
- Prepare safety signage, warnings, hazard barriers, and communication materials.
- Participate in safety audits, inspections, and accident/incident investigations.
- Recommend corrective actions to eliminate hazards and improve safety programs.
- Prepare, review, and submit accident/injury reports; ensure proper follow-up.
- Assist with workers’ compensation cases, medical coordination, and return‑to‑work efforts.
- Administer random drug testing program.
- Monitor fire/life safety equipment and support PPE program compliance.
- Coordinate with plant safety staff for reporting, benchmarking, and safety initiatives.
- Coordinate benefits administration (health, dental, disability, life, vacation, leave, EAP).
- Process personnel transactions: hires, promotions, transfers, reviews, terminations.
- Prepare HR reporting and assist with government reporting.
- Conduct onboarding, prepare orientation packets, and process new‑hire paperwork.
- Manage daily timekeeping, PTO requests, and JDE hour reporting.
- Support recruitment and hiring activities.
- Maintain confidential employee files and compliance documentation.
- Assist with special HR projects and general administrative/calendar duties.
- Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements, and special events.
- Provide clerical and reporting support as directed by leadership.

- Strong ability to read/interpret safety rules, manuals, and procedures.
- Able to draft professional reports, correspondence, and manualsissed
- Ability to follow instructions and solve practical problems.
- Proficient in HR systems, payroll systems, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Ability to work professionally under pressure.
- Must work onsite, 1st shift, starting at 6:00am.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Regular sitting, use of hands, talking/hearing.
- Frequent walking; occasional standing.
- Occasional lifting up to 10 lbs.
- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, and focus adjustment.
