San Antonio, TX – $80,000.00–$90,000.00.
SWBC is seeking a talented individual to serve as a supervisor on the payroll team while maintaining high confidentiality and effective communication of all employee‑related payroll information. As a prominent member of the PEO payroll division, you will specialize in PEO payroll processes and procedures, provide payroll support to the team, assist the Payroll Manager with HR functions, implement procedural changes, and oversee payroll projects that improve the team’s efficiency.
You will also process payroll for high‑profile clients.
- Process payroll for client companies and supervise selected members of the payroll team.
- Work with clients to resolve payroll issues.
- Interact with client companies and employees regarding payroll questions and problem resolution.
- Enter and ensure new hires are processed correctly in time‑keeping systems.
- Audit the payment of high compensation and bonus payments, and the child support arrearage lump‑sum payment process.
- Initiate direct deposits when necessary.
- Verify accuracy of information, checking for possible FLSA violations.
- Process employee payment types.
- Maintain W‑4 and I‑9 records.
- Process general deductions.
- Maintain client contact information and a list of standard clients for requested reports.
- Assist Payroll Specialists with labor issues, tax withholding, deductions, and documentation.
- Process data changes.
- Maintain knowledge of government contract requirements such as the Davis Bacon Act and the McNamara‑O’Hara Service Contract Act, including certified payroll reporting, wage decisions, fringe benefits, and job classifications, and assist clients with compliance.
- Assist clients with the setup of wrap‑up programs including ROCIP, OCIP, and CCIP reporting requirements.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in payroll processing, garnishments and general deductions, and W‑2 & I‑9 maintenance.
- CPP certification preferred.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
- Strong knowledge of processing job‑costed and certified payrolls.
- Strong computer skills and experience with payroll database systems.
- Knowledge of routine payroll tasks and effective communication of results.
- Knowledge of time‑clock systems.
- Knowledge of state laws concerning payroll, overtime, and related regulations.
- Ability to process multiple payrolls for numerous clients with various payroll schedules.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Prism HR, Word, and PowerPoint.
