Banquets Houseperson

Overview

The Banquets Team at Horseshoe Bay Resort is looking for strong candidates to join us. The Banquet Housepersons are responsible for the execution of proper set-up of a banquet function, including breakdown and resets, with minimal supervision. Banquet Housepersons may be called on to perform other banquet duties as needed. Se habla espanol!

* Banquets Houseperson is a tipped position (hourly + event gratuities).

• Responsible for the setting up of the function rooms, coffee breaks, buffets and bars as needed using a BEO as reference.
• Ensure function rooms are cleaned after every function.
• Knowledge of various types of equipment and set up styles used in meeting rooms.
• Ensure superior service and sanitation standards; all rooms and tabletop utensils must be detailed and presentable prior to every function.
• Make sure all equipment is in working order for the department.
• Daily inspection of banquet hallways, meeting rooms, storerooms and public areas.
• Pre-shifts with fellow staff and supervisor for every function.
• Daily exchange of information between the Banquet Captain, Manager, and line level associates.
• Respond to guest needs as requested.
• May be asked to perform other banquet duties as needed.
• Be active in preventative maintenance around the resort.
• Maintain a clean, safe and environmentally responsible work environment.

• Minimum age 18+ (21+ if driving licensed Resort vehicle).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet driver insurability requirements.
• Food Handler's Certificate
• TABC Certificate
• Tip Trained required
• Previous banquet set-up experience, preferably in a resort setting, is valued.
• OSHA Hazard Communication Standard training and certification encouraged.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to comprehend, read, speak, and write English.
• Problem solving abilities; self-starter who works well independently and in a team.
• Neat appearance and proper associate uniform standards with slip-resistant, polished footwear.

• Ability to lift and move tables, chairs, and equipment.
