What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Review and validate Release of Information (ROI) requests for completeness and compliance
  • Process disclosures using various VA tools and systems, including VistA/CPRS
  • Produce and send correspondence to requestors, including cover letters and status updates
  • Scan and upload date-stamped requests and documentation into relevant systems
  • Maintain accurate logs and audit trails to ensure compliance with privacy and security standards
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Minimum of 1 year of full-time ROI experience in a medical setting or equivalent HIM functions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA, Privacy Act, and VHA ROI policies
  • Experience with VA systems (VistA/CPRS/eROI+) or a strong ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to handle sensitive records and apply “minimum necessary” disclosure rules
  • Must complete VA-required background/security processes prior to access

  • Familiarity with the VA healthcare system and its processes
  • Previous experience working with sensitive health information in a compliance‑focused role
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
