Responsible for providing intensivebehavioralinterventionservices to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental delays in language, cognitive,adaptivebehavior, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor,gross motor and communication development. The behaviortherapist is ultimately responsible for direct delivery of thebehavioral services to the children and families, as well asaccurate record-keeping of case notes and excellent communication with supervising BCABA or BCBA about the program and the progress of thebehaviorservice plans.
TheRBT maintains a weekly billable caseload of service hours as directed.
- Provide direct therapy in individual and group sessions.
- Completeweekly program writing and maintain client's programbook.
- Workwith the Clinical Team and implement individualized goals andchecklists.
- Implementindividualized treatment plans as written and directed by aClinical Manager.
- Graphdata as instructed - may only apply if the electronic data collection system is offline.
- Maintainrespect and confidentiality for all clients.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishingpersonal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices;participating in professional societies.
- Maintain and protect the well-being of all clients.
- Avoidslegal challenges by keeping client informationconfidential.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability tomeet
California’s driving requirements - Dependablemeans of transportation
- Activelycommunicates the Nexus Therapies' outreach efforts to community
- Adheresto the mission, vision, and values of Nexus Therapies (very important)
Required
Education and Experience:
- High School Degree
- An associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in the areasof applied behavior analysis, marriage and family therapy,child development, special education, psychology, or related field.
- RBTCertification.
- Demonstratea thorough understanding of DTT, PECS, PRT, and other ABAstrategies.
- Abilityto stand and circulate for extended periods oftime.
- Abilityto see for purposes of reading laws and codes, rules and policies, and other printed matter and observingstudents.
- Abilityto hear and understand speech at normal speech levels, in the English language.
- Abilityto communicate so others will be able to understand normalconversation clearly.
- Abilityto lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Adaptto manage moderate to high-stress levels.
- Workfluctuates between a clinical, office, and home environment.
- Climateis normal; occasional adverse weather conditions.
- Regularcontact with parents, community members, and outside agencypersonnel.
- Hazards:
Incumbents may be exposed to contact with individualsdisplaying physically aggressive, self-abusive, or sociallyundesirablebehavior. - Ability and willingness to travel between client locations for appointments as assigned in a punctualmanner.
- Successfullypass an FBI and DOJ background check
Reliable transportation is required
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThisis a part-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with some weekends as needed; hours willfluctuate based onworkloadand client schedule.
Occasional weekend work will be required based on client needs.
Monday
- Friday hours available 12 pm to 8pm.
Saturday - 10 am to 6 pm
