Role Summary
The Medical Liaison in North Texas is a field-based medical affairs role that builds relationships with healthcare professionals, educates on Novo Nordisk products, and provides medical information. You will coordinate educational activities, identify potential sites for clinical trials, and serve as a scientific liaison between Novo Nordisk and external customers to advance scientific exchange. You will support Medical, Sales and Marketing, and Managed Care by applying your advanced clinical knowledge and expertise to communicate with healthcare providers and organizations.
Responsibilities- Administrative Duties:
- Complete administrative tasks accurately and timely in line with SOPs and practices
- Comply with guidelines, policies, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements
- Manage regional business operations and budgets effectively
- Maintain thorough understanding of Novo Nordisk processes; assist other FMA members as needed
- Provide monthly reports on scientific support activities and budget expenditures to the Director
- Record activities in the customer response management system (e.g., VEEVA) and expenses in Concur per FMA procedures
- Advocacy & Professional Relationship Development:
- Attend medical and scientific meetings; stay current on issues and data related to NNI products
- Develop and maintain relationships with key health care providers and Integrated Health Networks (IHNs)
- Support appropriate use of NNI products and improve utilization of services
- Answer questions from health care providers and IHNs
- Combine account management, business acumen, and scientific expertise to enhance value and collaboration
- Establish medical account strategy/plan through key relationships and collaboration opportunities
- Field-Based Clinical Support:
- Collaborate with HEOR to deliver scientific value propositions; deliver HEOR presentations on request
- Inform scientific strategies with Marketing and Sales to optimize product development activities
- Coordinate with trial sites to ensure timely review, initiation, completion, and publication of results; support investigator knowledge and patient recruitment
- Coordinate with regional FMA teammates to cover clinical and scientific needs
- Provide customized, system-wide clinical education and support within IHNs; manage professional relations at account level
- Coordinate with HSM to educate Chief Executives, Medical Directors, and formulary stakeholders to secure access to products
- Develop and present product and scientific updates, including formulary presentations within IHNs
- Required:
Doctoral degree - Required:
At least two years’ experience in a health-related system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment - Preferred:
Relevant clinical and/or cardiometabolic experience - Preferred:
Displays business acumen/knowledge from formulary process decisions - Preferred:
Extensive experience in diabetes - Preferred:
Strong communication skills

- HEOR collaboration and data interpretation
- Policy and compliance literacy
- Doctoral degree required (already listed under Qualifications)
- 50-75% overnight travel required
- Driver must maintain a valid driver’s license
