New Parent Support Home Visitor, RN/BSN-LCSW/LMFT from any state, Fort Bliss, Texas

Provide support to all eligible families with expectant parents and parents of children from birth to 3 years of age. This program supports young military families, contributing to mission readiness and helping family members adapt to military life. The role includes activities and services such as information and referrals, parenting programs, respite care, and supervised playtime. Families with children prenatal to 3 years old who have been assessed as at risk for child maltreatment or family violence may benefit from additional, more-intensive support.

Responsibilities
  • Provide effective, timely, and confidential services for families assessed as at risk.
  • Protect privacy and confidentiality of client information.
  • Identify and report suspected child abuse and neglect and domestic abuse.
  • Assess developmental milestones and referral procedures for indicators of special needs or developmental delays.
  • Assess and strengthen adaptation to parenthood.
  • Assess and strengthen parental capacity for problem‑solving, building and sustaining trusting relationships, and seeking help when necessary.
  • Promote developmentally appropriate parenting skills and disciplinary techniques, and parent‑child communication skills.
  • Facilitate informal and formal community networks to build positive relationships and reduce social isolation.
  • Develop relationships with local community and military installation officials and organizations that can maximize program effectiveness.
  • Utilize community‑based services and formal and informal network to provide concrete support for families in crisis.
  • Use a strengths‑based, family‑centered developmental approach to screen for, assess, and address protective and risk factors.
  • Keep the tracking system up to date with case status.
  • Participate in monthly conference calls and annual training events.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years of direct work experience in child abuse or domestic abuse, or maternal or child health or medical social work.
  • Current and active license as an LCSW, LMFT, or RN.
  • If LCSW, a current, valid, unrestricted clinical license and a master’s degree in Social Work to practice independently.
  • If RN, at least a bachelor’s degree in nursing, a current unrestricted license in a U.S. state or territory, and at least two (2) years of direct experience in child abuse or related fields.
  • Home visitation experience.
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to use general office equipment and communicate in person or by phone.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Travel as needed, adhering to AFSC travel policies.
  • Ability to enter private homes where access may be limited for people with disabilities or post‑rehabilitation mobility.
  • Ability to transport oneself from office locations to private homes, other offices, and training facilities.

Salary Range: $58,440 – $93,500

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary by location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job‑related factors permitted by law.
