We are looking for a compassionate and innovative Early Intervention Specialist (EIS) to join our team to work with infants, toddlers, and their families, empowering them to overcome challenges and unlock new opportunities for growth in their child’s development.
As an EIS, you will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team that helps families with a child who has an identified disability and/or developmental delay by developing strategies within the families and child’s daily routine. You’ll deliver Specialized Skills Training and Case Management services to families in their natural environments, whether that’s at home, daycare, or community settings. You will connect with families and provide support through a hybrid model of in-person and/or telehealth services.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with Families and Team Members: Work alongside families, doctors, other professionals and community partners to evaluate needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and track progress. Help the whole family gain the tools to assist their child in reaching their full potential.
- Provide Specialized Skills Training: Support children as they develop functional skills through engaging strategies that encourage growth and independence.
- Case Management: Help families access the resources they need, from services to advocacy, while ensuring they understand their rights and feel supported throughout the process.
- Use Creative Coaching Strategies: Implement the Coaching Model, enabling families to lead their child’s development and integrate interventions into everyday activities.
- Trauma-Informed Care: Approach every interaction with empathy and respect, using Trauma-Informed Care principles to create a safe and supportive environment for families.
Requirements of early intervention service provision come under the authority of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and are regulated by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services. It is expected that certification training will be completed and approved within the first year of employment.
Location: Blanco, Burnet and Llano, TX
Hourly Salary Range: $22.22 – $31.97
- Up to $4.00/hour tenure with BTCS
- Up to $2.00/hour previous community center experience in a similar position
- $1.00/hr – Master’s degree in Human Services
- $1.00/hour – Advanced Licensure
- Has potential to earn $200 service delivery incentives monthly
Credentials
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Family Studies, Child Development or related major including at least 9 hours of coursework relevant to child development and/or early childhood intervention, with 3 hours in early childhood development or early childhood special education. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and maintain an approved driving record throughout employment.
- Preferred Qualifications: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish. Knowledge of typical and atypical development in children birth to three years old. Knowledge of early intervention services and team/family dynamics. Ability to contribute as a leader and facilitator on teams including parents, caregivers, and other professional staff. Ability to work with minimal supervision, exercise initiative, discretion, and self-motivation in matters of significance to families and the agency.
Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, and basic computer skills. Ability to adhere to family-centered, activity-based early intervention practices and work sensitively with families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
