Mammography Technologist 2 (PRN)

Job Summary:
The Mammography Technologist 2, under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs advanced Breast Imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.
- Performs high-quality Breast Imaging procedures according to exam protocol, in a timely manner; maintains production and quality by following established standards.
- Utilizes AIDET to communicate with patients, confirming exam and ensuring correct identification.
- Instructs patients and families regarding the test and assesses patient tolerance.
- Prepares patient and area for procedure, positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices and equipment, setting exposure factors.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection‑control, drug and radiation policies, and protocols; uses proper sterile techniques and hand hygiene.
- Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards; works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities; reports issues and assists in inventory maintenance.
- Ensures individuals are safe to enter the department by screening according to approved policies.
- Obtains, verifies, and maintains all relevant documentation (requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms, policies).
- Maintains medical imaging records in appropriate systems and according to department policies for prompt interpretation.
- Perform high-quality Breast Imaging procedures, including stereotactic biopsies, needle localization, and ultrasound‑guided biopsies.
- Explain the procedure and put patients at ease.
- Provide services timely, accurately, and cost‑efficiently in compliance with system and regulatory standards.
- Perform tasks independently without routine oversight.
- Maintain a calm and helpful attitude, even under stress, and resolve issues appropriately.
- Administer first aid and use emergency cart.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times, providing courteous service, reviewing satisfaction scores, and developing action plans.
- Maintain current knowledge, continued education, and skills for care across age groups (pediatric, young adult, adult, geriatric).
- Serve as preceptor, providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives.

Qualifications- Education
:
Graduate of an Accredited Program - Experience
: 2 Years of Experience - Certification/License/Registration
:- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Medical Radiologic Tech (MRT) licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board.
- ARRT‑M Mammography (must have ARRT‑R and ARRT‑M).
