The Clinician plays a pivotal role in coordinating and providing the provision of comprehensive mental health services for the children in care.

The Clinician provides mental health assessments and counseling intervention services within the clinical department.

This position involves working closely with children in care to assess the children's mental well-being, develop therapeutic plans, and monitor their progress throughout their stay at the program.

The Clinician operates within a multidisciplinary team environment, collaborating with other departments to ensure the holistic care of children in care, executing child therapeutic plans, facilitating transfers, and

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Clinical Services
  • Facilitate Individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Ensure completion of all ORR required assessments by established deadlines.
  • Ensure individual counseling and group counseling sessions are being conducted based on licensing, funding, and Vision Quest standards.
  • Collaborate with treatment team members and children to develop treatment plans, when needed.
  • Coordinate and facilitate psycho-educational and therapeutic groups.
  • Continuously monitor and document children's mental well-being and program adjustment.
  • Assist with child crisis incidents.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
  • Responsible for overall compliance of assigned caseload.
  • Ensure submission of Significant Incident Reports (SIRs) according to ORR guidelines, state licensing standards, and Vision Quest policies and procedures for reporting incidents.
  • Assist with departmental monthly audits in accordance with VQ Policies and Procedures, in addition to regular audits of the ORR UC Portal. Additional monitoring should be conducted as needed.
Operational Support and Development
  • Work closely with program leadership to create a safe therapeutic environment for children in care.
  • Work with other members of the management team to assure successful communication and coordination between all members, leadership, and corporate personnel.
  • Attend all departmental and program meetings to ensure that up-to-date information is received and/or information of policy changes or practice are adhered to.
  • Assist with after hours on call responsibilities as needed.
  • Attend all required training to meet all state and federal mandates.
  • Maintain an active license (if applicable).
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor(s).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Master’s degree in social work with clinical experience in the program
  • Master’s degree in psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science in which direct clinical experience is a program requirement
  • A bachelor’s degree plus 5 years clinical employment experience in the behavioral sciences.
  • Must be licensed to provide clinical services in the state where the care provider is located or eligible for licensure.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
