The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community.

** Description of Work
** This position reports to the Correctional Associate Warden at a multi-custody female correctional facility and will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the grievance procedures in its entirety to ensure compliance with Department of Adult Correction policy. Other job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Maintaining a computerized tracking system to maintain records of all grievances to ensure documentation is in place to comply with policy and legal requirements.
2. Monitoring the grievance program to ensure the process meets Department of Adult Correctional policy requirements.
3. Reviewing appeals and ensuring the process for review and notification is completed in accordance with policy.
4. Exercising judgment and discretion in applying all policy and procedures for the Administrative Remedy program.
5. Maintaining knowledge of the Administrative Remedy Procedures/Grievance Program and consult with staff and offenders to provide guidance in the resolution of concerns/issues.
6. Assisting with investigating grievance claims by researching and gathering facts for response to the offender.
7. Analyzing data and completing reports on grievances while demonstrating the ability to organize and complete work assignments with minimal guidance.
(Salary Range: $41,655 - $72,897)
